Short Profile of the Person:Grant has over 25 years experience in the design & development of urban, suburban and rural projects around the world. Grant has 15 years work experience in Australia, 6 years working in the Asia Pacific Region, and 3 years in the Middle East, and has worked and lectured in over 40 cities globally. His experience covers large-scale strategic and master planning designs as well as recreation and open space strategies and policies. He has been involved in major environmental projects across Australia as well as developing strategic development plans for environmentally and ecologically significant sites in China and the Middle East.
Grant has a roving ambassadorial role with the International Federation of Landscape Architects which entails working globally with students and governments to further the cause of the federation. In this role Grant has lectured in Africa, Turkey, China, India and Europe. Grant has assisted UNESCO for the development of world heritage sites in China (Da Zou & Suzhou) as well as providing advisory assistance to them for the development of Qur’anic gardens in the Middle east. Grants major focus is on the design and development of culturally sensitive and appropriate developments that are not only environmentally and economically sound but socially and culturally responsive.
