Short Profile of the Person:Currently with one of Europe’s largest architecture and design firms, RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky, he is responsible for their Hospitality Solutions division.
Previously in the assignment of Director of Development, Spa and Interiors, Jumeirah Group, he was earlier Managing Associate of Hirsch Bedner Associates Dubai. He is a registered architect and interior designer. Markus’ experience ranges from architectural master planning to interior design detailing and includes project management and construction administration in both architectural and interior design projects. His project experience includes commercial buildings, hospitals and clinics, luxury residential villas and shopping malls. He has specialized in hotel design for more than a decade and has worked on close to 100 hotel projects world wide as an architect, interior designer and in his role with Jumeirah.

In 1950, Helmut Rhode founded the office in Düsseldorf, in 1970 the partnership was created and further partners have joined since 1980. Currently, the firm has ca. 200 employees in the main office in Düsseldorf and in subsidiaries in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig and Warsaw. The range of projects and services includes offices and administration buildings for commercial and insurance companies, high rise buildings in Germany and abroad, shopping centres, department stores and infrastructure projects, town and landscape planning, product development, product design and project management.
Specific long lasting experience of RKW in the design of shopping centres was honoured in 2001 by the MIPIM Award for Sevens in Düsseldorf.
