"KSA Future Schools : Building a Sustainable Future for the Kingdom’s Youth"

Holley Chant, LEED AP, is KEO International’s Corporate Director of Sustainability.

Holley Chant, LEED AP, QSAS CGP, is KEO International’s Corporate Director of Sustainability. KEO is a leader in the delivery of Planning, Sustainability, Architectural Design, Civil Engineering and Project Management Services. At KEO, Ms. Chant heads a team of 16 sustainability experts that include Building Physicists, Green Building and Community Sustainability Certification Managers (QSAS, LEED, Estidama, BREEAM), Sustainable Infrastructure Engineers, and Ecologists.  

Ms. Chant has over 13 years experience in senior leadership positions in the public and private sectors. She has an in-depth knowledge of the GCC’s environmental challenges and expertise on the region’s sustainability policies and initiatives. She is a frequent international speaker on built environment sustainability, institutional capacity building and corporate social responsibility.

Ms. Chant is lead author of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City Infrastructure Sustainability Guideline and acts as Sustainability Principle in charge of sustainability projects throughout Qatar, KSA, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia. Some current projects are Doha Grand Park QSAS Sustainability services; Qatar Science and Technology Park Solar Research Facility LEED services; Petroleum Development Oman LEED services; Sorouh Emirati Housing Estidama Services, among others.  Sustainability competition achievements include Construction Week Sustainable GCC Project of the Year in the MEP Middle East Awards 2011 for ADEC schools (Estidama services) ,  and Sustainability Manager with the Studio E/ Max Fordham team for their “Sustainable Schools” concept in the Abu Dhabi Education Council Sustainable School contest.  Miss Chant is the Abu Dhabi regional representative for the Qatar Foundation/ Harvard University collaboration entitled “The Gulf Encyclopedia of Sustainable Urbanism.”

Previous to joining KEO, Ms. Chant was Planning Manager at the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) in charge of Estidama, Abu Dhabi’s Sustainable Building and Community Development initiative.

As a sustainability advocate, Miss Chant is particularly committed to raising awareness on the vital relationship between design of the built environment and public health. She is a founding member of the Abu Dhabi Eco-Chicks, an advocacy group that believes in empowering women and families through education and outreach to positively impact sustainability and the environment. She earned her Master’s Degree in Environmental Management at Harvard University, with Dean’s List honors.
