Short Profile: 

Shamim Rashid-Sumar is Vice President of Middle East Operations for Rolf Jensen & Associates (RJA).  Prior to joining the Dubai office in her current role, Ms. Rashid-Sumar managed several projects as a consultant in RJA’s Baltimore/Washington, DC area offices.  Ms. Rashid-Sumar has utilized computer fire modeling in the analysis of fire protection and life safety related building code issues, performance based design, and computer simulations for people movement. Ms. Rashid-Sumar also has experience in code review, specifications, drawing review, fire protection evaluations, design, fire safety evaluation of systems, and engineering analyses and studies.  Types of projects on which she has been involved include government facilities, office buildings, commercial facilities, and special use facilities.  Her international project portfolio includes the King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Doha Convention Center and Tower, University Hospital Dubai, and Muscat International Airport.
