It is NERLEI’s mission to protect the interests of each of its members and the Region in general, always with the aim of adapting those interests to other areas of society, namely cultural and social, and also to what is most important, the country.

Therefore, its principal objectives are to systematically cover areas that are of interest to the business community of the region and to promote projects that will enhance the economic development of the District of Leiria.

To achieve these objectives NERLEI carries out various initiatives: it promotes activities and cooperation between businessmen; it collaborates with public and private institutions, to reduce constraints that affect the proper functioning of companies in the region; it strives for the reinforcement of regional development infrastructures; it collaborates with local governments and municipal associations in the creation and use of public business infrastructures; it identifies needs and encourages partnerships in the creation of projects; it promotes professional training courses directed towards companies; it organizes colloquia, conferences, expositions and exhibitions and dinner-conferences.

NERLEI assists companies from the Leiria region in their international business development through the organization of participations in international exhibitions and entrepreneurial missions as well as seminars on external markets.

The Association also offers facilities for meetings and events for its members and supports them in all administrative and legal matters that occur during company formation and the ongoing business activities. Other supporting services are the periodical publishing of important information and industry related studies and the specialized Notary’s office.
